Salesforce’s Cadence Builder offers a dynamic, visual interface for designing and implementing multi-track cadences that drive higher conversion rates and more efficient processes. In this blog, we’ll walk you through the process of creating a Standard Cadence using the Salesforce Cadence Builder—covering everything from building a main track to fine-tuning positive and negative tracks, setting exit rules, and finally activating your cadence.
Sales Engagement in Sales Cloud is available at no additional cost for Performance and Unlimited Editions. For Professional and Enterprise Editions, it comes at an extra charge. Additionally, Sales Engagement can be added to Service Cloud and Lightning Platform for an extra cost.

The Cadence Builder Interface
When you launch the Salesforce Cadence Builder, the interface is designed to simplify the creation and management of sales cadences through three primary panels:
- Left-Side Panel: Cadence Tracks & Actions
This panel provides options to add different types of tracks—Main, Positive, and Negative—as well as a list of potential actions (e.g., calls, emails, and social messages) that can be dragged onto the canvas. - Central Canvas: The Work Area
Here is where you visually build your cadence by arranging actions on tracks. It’s your digital workspace where the sequence of outreach is organized. - Right-Side Panel: Cadence Configuration
This panel lets you define specifics such as cadence name, description, and step-by-step configurations, including scheduling and execution rules.
Give your cadence a clear name and description to set its context for your organization. This foundational step not only aids in organization but also ensures that your team understands the purpose behind each cadence.

We will discuss the Cadence tracks in detail in an upcoming blog.
