1. Install Dropbox for Salesforce
- Visit the Dropbox for Salesforce listing.
- Click the “Get It Now” button on the Dropbox for Salesforce page.
- Choose the installation environment – opting for the production environment provides access to all end users, while installing in a sandbox creates a duplicate for testing new apps.
- Agree to the terms and conditions by checking the corresponding box, then click “Confirm and Install.”
- Click “Continue” to proceed.
- On the “Step 1. Approve Package API Access” page, click “Next.”
- On the “Step 2. Choose security level” page, select a security level, and click “Next.”
- On the “Step 3. Install Package” page, click “Install.”
2. Connect and configure Salesforce to Dropbox
- Sign in to the Salesforce website.
- Navigate to the Salesforce App Launcher and select the Dropbox Options tab.

- Click on “Connect to Dropbox.”

- You will be redirected to dropbox.com; click “Continue.”

- When prompted, choose to “Create Remote Site Setting”

- Members will be prompted to connect their Dropbox account when accessing a Salesforce page.

- Configure page layouts by selecting “Update Layouts,” adding the Dropbox component to Account, Contact, Case, Opportunity, and Lead objects page layouts.

- After connecting, Dropbox Connection Settings will display the username and team name (applicable to Dropbox Business only).

3. Share the “Salesforce Documents” folder
- Navigate to a record with Dropbox for Salesforce enabled.
- Click on “Setup.”
- Upload a file from your computer to the Dropbox for Salesforce widget using drag and drop or the Add Files button.

- The uploaded file will be sent to Dropbox, and the “Salesforce Documents” folder will be automatically generated in your Dropbox account.
After creating the “Salesforce Documents” folder, you can share it with the rest of your team:
- Sign in to dropbox.com with the same account you used to set up Dropbox for Salesforce.
- If you’re unsure which account is connected, click Dropbox Options. At the top of the page, under Dropbox Connection Settings, you can see who you are Connected As.
- Click Share.

- Enter the email addresses of the colleagues you wish to share the folder with, and then click Share.

- The users must accept your invitation before Dropbox for Salesforce will work.
