A forecast quota represents the monthly or quarterly sales target allocated to an individual sales team member or a specific territory. The manager’s quota is the cumulative goal for both the manager and the team to achieve collaboratively. Users and managers manually consolidate quota data through a process known as quota rollup, where either revenue or quantity data can be employed. In cases where multiple forecast types are in use, each type maintains its distinct set of quota information.

How to set up quotas?
To set up quotas, follow the below steps.
- Navigate to Setup.
- In the Quick Find box, enter “Quotas.”
- Click on “Forecasts Quotas.”
- Select the desired period.
- Choose the forecast type.
- Click “Show Quotas.”
- The quota amount for the desired period and Forecast type will then be displayed against each user.

Manage quotas for users, roles, or territories
- Search for and select the relevant users, roles, or territories.
- Click “Edit Selected Rows”.

- Type in the quota amount. This represents the ‘Loan amount’ the selected user have to attain for the given forecast period.
- Save quota changes.

Show and Hide Quota Information in Collaborative Forecasts
- If quotas are configured by your Salesforce admin, you have the flexibility to control the visibility of quota information on your forecasts page.
- The nature of quota information, whether it’s related to revenue or quantity, is contingent on the chosen forecast type.
- In instances where multiple forecast types are active, each type independently retains its distinct quota information.
To view quota and quota attainment information,
- Click the gear icon located in the upper right corner of the forecasts page.
- To view quotas for each period: Select “Show Quota Column.”
- To observe quota attainment for a specific rollup in a chosen period: Select “Show Quota % Attainment.”

How to Interpret Quota Attainment Progress
The percentage and accompanying progress bar beneath each forecast convey the extent to which the forecast aligns with the user’s assigned quota. Progress bars are color-coded based on the specified ranges: Grey (0%), Red (1% to 33%), Orange (34% to 66%), and Green (67% and above).
