VA Loan Review Tool in Encompass 360

Prior to the release of VA loan review tool in Encompass 360, Encompass users needed to manually log into the Veterans Affairs (VA) portal, outside of Encompass, to submit loan data to VA. The new VA Loan Review tool enables lenders to seamlessly and efficiently accomplish this from within Encompass. Lenders can now submit loan files, along with the Uniform Loan Application and Closing datasets, directly from Encompass to VA with the click of a button – a streamlined, simplified method with increased data accuracy that helps them spend less time logging into VA systems and uploading documents, and more time providing veterans with better, more personalized service.

This tool is available in both the Desktop and Web editions of Encompass.

Configuration in Encompass 360

Authorized users, such as Encompass administrators, need to configure the service before users can submit their loans to VA.

NOTE: Portal ID needs to be configured in the Services Password Management setting in Encompass (Desktop) settings for both Web and Desktop versions of Encompass.

Encompass users must have their portal_id and Loan Identification Number (LIN) in Loan Review status to deliver Loan Review documents and the UCD and ULAD XMLs to VA via the API.

Configuration on VA Loan Guaranty Portal

1. Submit a case through the LGY Help Center.
2. For Product, select API Support.
3. For Category, Request API Production Account.
4. In the description, identify the home office lender ID that needs a corresponding API account and an email address for the new API

This email address will receive deactivation warnings when the account approaches 90 days of inactivity, and a deactivation notice after 90 days of inactivity.

Notify VA if the API account email address needs to be updated.

Test Environment

To test the VA Loan Review tool:

1. Encompass admins need to create a user with the <name>_spr_uat format (For example jamesbond_spr_uat)
2. Users will need to log into Encompass with special userid created for testing and any VA transaction will be sent to the VA test

NOTE: This is for testing purposes only. For loan submissions to the production environment, use your standard Encompass login credentials.

Configuration in Desktop Version of Encompass

Encompass admins need to use the Services Password Management setting in Encompass Settings to configure VA Loan Review for their Encompass instance (both Web and Desktop editions) and select authorized users for the service.

In the Account Details window:

• Portal ID field, enter the Portal ID provided to by VA.
• N/A field, enter any value until this field is deprecated in a future release

Configuration in Web Version of Encompass

1. Log in as an Encompass admin, go to Services> Services Management, click the Add Service button to launch the setup

2. In the VA Loan Review service that you created, click the Manual

3. In the Add Manual Setup window, complete all the mandatory
   • To authorize users to use this tool, go to the Authorized Users panel, click the Add button, and follow the in-app

4. After the setup is complete, a success message will Click the OFF button to enable the service.

5. Status updated to ON.

6. On the Services Management page, got to the VA Loan Review service, click the three dots (epsilon) and click Credentials.

7. In the VA Loan Review Credentials page, click the Add
   • In the Add Company Credentials window, Username field, enter the Portal ID provided by VA
   • Enter the preferred password
   • Click the Save
