The Account Engagement Lightning App places Account Engagement into the Salesforce Lightning Experience. To set up the Account Engagement Lightning App, go through the Implementation Guide Account Engagement Setup Implementation Guide (salesforce.com). We will cover the detailed steps of implementation in another article. In Account Engagement Lightning App-Part 1,let us see the tabs on the top navigation bar of Account Engagement Lightning app and their functionalities.
- Prospects tab : where you access records for the prospects in your account. Prospect List contains every prospect in your account. You can also group prospects into accounts under Prospect Accounts. We can monitor website’s page views and individual visits under Visitors. In the prospect tab, we can manually create new prospects. The syncing between Salesforce and Account engagement works in such a way that, if a prospect is created with an email address which is already existing in Salesforce (either of a lead or a contact), then a new prospect will not be created. It will only update the existing lead/contact.

We can create a prospect manually, import prospects in Account Engagement or through a salesforce sync .

- Campaigns tab: where you can track all your campaigns. These are touchpoints to track a prospect’s source. When you click on any campaign, we will get the details of all prospects, visitors and opportunities associated with that campaign. One prospect can be associated with only one campaign. Each Campaign has a unique tracking code that tracks prospect activity. The tracking code is available on the Campaign detail page. The tracking code is a javascript code. We can copy and paste this code right before the close body tag on the HTML pages of the website, so that all the prospects and visitors can go directly into Account engagement.

Campaigns tab contains the Sales Cloud campaigns. Account Engagement Campaigns can be accessed from the app launcher. These can be connected to Salesforce from ‘Connectors’ in the Account Engagement Settings. Before doing so, we must choose the record types (if there are record types in Campaign object). Once the Account Engagement Campaigns are connected to Salesforce campaigns, campaigns become read only in Account Engagement. Users can edit only a campaign’s prospects, tags and folders.
- Automations tab: where you can use automation tools, like automation rules, page actions, and segmentation lists, to quickly update, segment, and send notifications about your prospects. From here you also create and build Engagement Studio programs to nurture your prospects.

- Account Engagement Email tab: where you will find all Email related content. From here you can access all email drafts, scheduled emails, and sent emails. All Pardot email templates are created and accessed here too. You can also find your email tests, including A/B test results. Since unsubscribe and email preference links are included in your emails, you’re able to find and edit those pages here as well. Engagement Studio programs that may use your email templates and segmentation lists that you may send emails to are also just a click away.

We will discuss the features offered by other tabs in an upcoming article.
