In the previous articles, we have seen how to integrate Docusign esignature for Salesforce. We have created a template called ‘Preapproval’ which can be used by loan officers to send documents to be signed by approvers for a borrower to be qualified for Preapproval. Considering this use case, let us see review Sending Envelopes using Docusign Esignature for Salesforce.
- Navigate to any loan record page.
- We will be able to see the newly added custom button.
- Click the ‘Send Preapproval’ button.
- We will be navigated to the template. Select the documents we want to send. There can be multiple documents in a single template.
- Click Next

We can edit the action, Add more recipients, change the email subject and message, set reminders.
- Click Next
- You will be redirected to the document preview page.
- We can validate the document for any changes need to be made.
- We can add more standard fields or merge fields into the document if required.
- After reviewing, click the ‘Send ‘ button on the bottom of the preview pane.
- The recipient must have received the document in his inbox.
- Click ‘Review Document’
- The recipient can add his/her signature in the document where we have placed fields to add signature.
- After signing, click Finish button on top of the document.
- The signers can adopt their signature provided they have a Docusign account.
- They can choose any available style, draw or upload the signature from their device.
- These steps have to be done within their Docusign account. Once a signature is adopted, they can use it to sign the docusign documents received within their inbox.
- In Salesforce, you can see the message that your Envelope has been sent.
- Click Back to Record
The stage is now changed to Pre-approved since the Envelope completed event has successfully triggered update of ‘Loan stage’ field.
