In Salesforce Einstein AI, prompt templates are powerful tools that allow you to create reusable, adaptable prompts for a variety of use cases, particularly in customer interactions. In this article, let us discuss How Prompt Templates Work in Generative AI using a sample prompt template.
How Prompt Templates Work
Prompt templates act as pre-structured prompts that contain placeholders—designated spaces where specific data can be dynamically inserted, such as customer names, product details, or transaction information. When these placeholders are populated with relevant data, the prompt transforms into a personalized, contextual response or piece of content.
Since prompt templates are reusable, they play a crucial role in implementing AI at scale effectively.
How to create prompt templates
- Click the Setup icon, then select Setup. This will open the Setup page.
- In the Quick Find box, type Einstein Setup, and then click Einstein Setup from the options that appear.
- To activate Einstein, simply click the toggle to turn it on.

- Refresh your browser window. This will display new admin settings now that Einstein is enabled.
